Gerald E. Roberts, 97, of Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024 at Tomahawk Health Services. Gerald was born Aug. 18, 1926 in Milwaukee the son of Leroy and Anna (Gough) Roberts. He was united in marriage to Wilhelmina (Renn) Basel on Sept. 26, 1987 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 2019. Gerald served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.
Surviving are his step-children, Mary Sann, Wausau; Jane (Russ) Penkalski, Stoddard; Ella Sheldon, Rhinelander; Joyce (Jack) Verbist, Tomahawk; Theresa Majerus, Port Washington; Delores (Phil) Miller, Wausau; niece, Mary Felzkowski, Tomahawk; 15 grandchildren, and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, June Behling; brother, Richard Roberts; nephew, Tom Behling; and step-son, George Basel.
Services were held at 12 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Tom Basani officiating. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to time of service.
