STAR Foundation makes donation to THS Link Crew

For the Tomahawk Leader

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk High School (THS) Link Crew thanked the Support Tomahawk Area Resources (STAR) Foundation for a recent donation.

The STAR Foundation awarded $500.00 to Link Crew, which provides schools with “a structure in which students make real connections with each other, thus increasing school safety and reducing the incidence of bullying with anti-bullying education,” THS Associate Principal Sheri Woodall explained.

“Through this program, freshmen learn that people at school care about them and their success, and student Link Leaders experience increased self-esteem, as well as overall character development,” Woodall said, adding that Link Crew increases attendance, decreases discipline referrals and improves academic performance at THS.

Woodall said the award will allow THS’s Link Crew program to expand both their social and academic follow-ups throughout the year, which will improve connectivity and overall student success.
