Tomahawk LP employees design, build, donate doghouse as part of company-wide competition

TOMAHAWK – Employees at Tomahawk’s Louisiana Pacific (LP) facility recently took part in a company-wide competition aimed at attracting the next generation of manufacturers.

As part of National Manufacturing Day, LP held a doghouse-building competition that pitted its 20 North American manufacturing facilities against each other.

“The competition allowed team members to show off their skills as they utilized LP products to design and build custom doghouses, which were then donated to local animal shelters,” LP Corporate Communications Specialist Jen Bowman explained.

The winner was decided by a company-wide popular vote via LinkedIn.

The winning facility, LP Sagola in Michigan, “received a meal fit for the doghouse-loving crew: hot dogs and bratwursts,” Bowman said.

After the competition, the Tomahawk LP employees donated its luxury doghouse to the Lincoln County Humane Society.
