Hatchet wrestlers split duals

WEYAUWEGA – Tomahawk’s wrestling team headed to Weyauwega on Tuesday, Dec. 5 and returned home after splitting nonconference duals with Berlin and Weyauwega-Fremont.

The Hatchets defeated Berlin 58-24, but dropped a 69-9 decision to Weyauwega-Fremont.

The Hatchets had pins from Presley Gutbrod (120 pounds), Harman Hoffman (126), Fletcher Baumann (138), Zander Zehner (150), Drew Tollefson (165) and Ethan Gibeault (285).

Jack Derleth also won his match at 132, and the Indians forfeited matches to Braden Ristau (113), Ryan Larson (144) and Kaiden Kapellusch (175).

Derleth won his 132-pound match for the Hatchets’ only contested win. The Warhawks also forfeited the 144-pound match to Larson.

Weyauwega-Fremont had nine pins in the match.

Tomahawk’s Harman Hoffman faces Berlin’s Tucker Bissett in a 126-pound match Dec. 5 at Weyauwega-Fremont High School. Hoffman pinned Bissett, and the Hatchets went on to defeat the Indians 58-24.
