Victim in fatal Town of Bradley head-on collision identified

TOWN OF BRADLEY – The victim in a fatal head-on collision in the Town of Bradley last month has been identified.

According to a release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at approximately 1:28 p.m., the Lincoln County 911 Dispatch Center received a report of a two-vehicle head-on crash at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 8 and Rapel Rd., north of Tomahawk.

Callers reported that the driver of one of the vehicles was trapped and non-responsive.

The Sheriff’s Office said preliminary investigation and witness statements suggested that a pickup truck was traveling eastbound when it crossed the centerline and struck a westbound utility work truck occupied by three male parties.

The utility truck flipped into the ditch, and there were minor injuries reported by the occupants, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The operator of the pickup truck, identified by the Sheriff’s Office on Monday, Dec. 4 as Dexter D. Porter, 78, of Sheboygan Falls, was pronounced dead at the scene.

U.S. Hwy. 8 was closed for approximately 5 ½ hours.

Agencies assisting the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at the scene included Lincoln County EMS, Oneida County EMS, the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Tomahawk Police Department, the Tomahawk Fire Department, the Nokomis Fire Department, the Lincoln County Highway Department and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).
