Drug dog search turns up ‘multiple prohibited items’ at THS

TOMAHAWK – A drug dog search led to the discovery of “multiple prohibited items” at Tomahawk High School this week.

According to a joint release from the School District of Tomahawk and the Tomahawk Police Department, a scheduled collaborative drug dog search was conducted at the Tomahawk school complex on Tuesday, Nov. 28 and Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Four dogs were utilized in the search – one from Tomahawk, one from Rhinelander and two from Price County.

The release said the event “initiated 35 locker/vehicle searches, conducted by school administration and assisted by officers when requested, leading to the discovery of multiple prohibited items in the high school.”

The prohibited items were not identified in the release.

No prohibited items were discovered in the middle school.

“Individuals found to be in possession of prohibited items while on school property face school discipline and referrals to law enforcement when necessary,” the release stated.
