MERRILL – The Lincoln County Administrative and Legislative (A&L) Committee yesterday discussed an offer to purchase Pine Crest Nursing Home from the county, but ultimately took no action on the offer.

During its meeting at the Lincoln County Service Center in Merrill on Tuesday, Nov. 21, the committee adjourned into closed session, per Wisconsin statutes, to talk over a proposal to buy the Merrill facility from Lincoln County.

After reconvening into open session and taking no action on items discussed in closed session, Committee Chair Don Friske said that when the committee has an “actionable item,” a meeting will be held and public notice of the meeting will be provided, according to meeting minutes.

The A&L Committee’s next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 6.

In the event the A&L Committee were to vote to accept an offer to purchase Pine Crest, the offer would be forwarded to the full Lincoln County Board of Supervisors for consideration.
