TOMAHAWK – The School District of Tomahawk is now offering a new smartphone app designed to help families stay connected with district news, events and more.
The district announced the launch of the “Hatchet App” on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
“We know our families are busy,” the district stated. “That’s why we are introducing this parent communication app to make it easier for parents, students and staff to quickly get the information they need regarding academics and extracurricular activities. From urgent communication to the day-to-day news, documents and forms, this app will save time and improve communication for families, students, and administrative staff.”

When opening the “Hatchet App,” users are offered an optional walkthrough of its features.
Among these features is the “News” tab, which offers all relevant information from the district.
The “Events” tab shows scheduled extracurricular activites, such as sports, plays and concerts, as well as guest speakers, blood drives and more.
Under the “Directory” tab, users can find contact information for district staff and Board of Education members.
Through the “Quick Links” tab, users can access Skyward and district newsletters.
Middle and high school bell schedules, breakfast and lunch menus and school supply lists are also available on the Hatchet App.
The app also features a link to Speak Up Speak Out, a 24/7 statewide confidential reporting system administered by the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of School Safety (OSS).
To download the app on iOS or Google, visit the app store and search “Hatchet App.”
The district recommends allowing notifications from the app.
