James M. Roberts, born on April 10, 1947, in Harvey, Ill., to Bernard and Margaret (Redmond) Roberts, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, with his family by his side.
James proudly served in the United States Army 101st Airborne during the Vietnam War. He was awarded multiple commendations, including the Purple Heart for his bravery. After his honorable discharge, Jim went to welding school. He worked as a welder in the Chicago area for ten years. Jim then moved to northern Wisconsin and worked at the Harley-Davidson plant in Tomahawk for more than 20 years.
Jim is survived by his wife, Claudia (Hamlin) Roberts; daughters, Audrey (Mark) Evans and Tammy (Adrian) Waller; granddaughters, Michelle (Cole) Kleinschmidt and Trinity Evans; and great-grandchildren, Willow and Hank Kleinschmidt. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Patrick and Michael; sister, Mary; son, James; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Per Jim’s request, there will be no ceremony.
