Mary L. Wilke

Mary L. Wilke, age 82, of County Rd. CC, Tomahawk, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Service.

Mary was born March 3, 1941 in Knapp, Wis., to the late Krause and MaryJane (DeGrace) Williams. She was married to DuWayne “Duke” Wilke on Sept. 26, 1959 in Delafield, Wis. Duke passed away in 2016. Mary worked for many years at Harley-Davidson and had helped coordinate the Fall Ride for several years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was very active with the Outdoor Worship at Grace. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Quilters group, the Somo Fish and Game Club, volunteering at Bingo and the local Food Pantry. Duke and Mary were very generous with their time and talents with many charitable organizations including a mission trip to South Africa with Grace Lutheran. She loved riding Harley’s, traveling, and spending winters in Arizona with her husband Duke. Mary’s love was steadfast and loyal to her family.

Survivors include four children, Mari (Craig) Kaufman, Wewoka, Okla.; Brent Wilke, Tomahawk; Cheyann Wilke, Tomahawk; and Clint (Erika) Wilke, Seminole, Okla. Mary is further survived by a brother, Phil (Kathi) Williams, of Washington, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Duke, brother, Lee Williams, and a granddaughter, Chandelle.

A Memorial Service for Mary Wilke will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, at 4 p.m. from Krueger-Nimsgern Funeral Home. Brad Leder will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

The family will use memorials for the benefit of the mental health of the youth in our community.
