Girls’ swimming: Tomahawk takes down Mosinee, Antigo

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Hatchet girls’ swim team earned a pair of wins in early season action.

Mosinee

The Lady Hatchet swimmers hosted Mosinee at Hatchet Pool on Thursday, Aug. 31 and came away with an 82-70 victory.

Tomahawk’s 200-yard medley relay team of Emma Hoff, Morgan Kretzschmar, Paige Dekiep and Maddie List took the top spot with a time of 2:09.64, and the team’s time of 1:58.01 in the 200-yard freestyle relay was also good enough for a first-place finish.

List finished in first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 30.22, while Dekiep’s time of 1:00.80 earned her the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly.

Hoff and List were the top two finishers in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 1:10:43 and 1:11.04, respectively.

In the 500-yard freestyle relay, Tomahawk’s Dorian Stefan took first place with a time of 7:41.51.

Antigo

On Wednesday, Sept. 7, Tomahawk took on Antigo at Hatchet Pool and earned a 94-54 win.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Hoff, Kretzschmar, Dekiep and List finished in first place with a time of 2:10.65. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Kaylee Roberts, Abigail Roberts, Lilly Krueger and List took the top spot, finishing with a time of 2:12.29.

Kretzschmar (2:38.14) took first place in the 200-yard IM, and Dekiep was the top finisher in the 100-yard butterfly (0:59.95). List (1:08.93), Hoff (1:10.72) and Roberts (1:26.07) took the first three spots in the 100-yard freestyle.

Dekiep and Hoff were the top two finishers on the 100-yard backstroke, with respective times of 1:04.59 and 1:22.57.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, Kretzschmar took first place with a time of 1:18.93.

This week’s action

On Thursday, Sept. 14, the Hatchets will travel to Medford for a meet that gets underway at 5:30 p.m.
