Thede in 1959; he passed in 1969. In 1989, she was married to Paul Anderson; he passed in 2006. Sonja’s earlier years were spent raising her five children as a young widow.

She loved the outdoors fishing and enjoyed watching the birds on her feeders and looking up the species in her bird book. Sonja also enjoyed crocheting and gifting Afghans. She was active with Rendezvous re-enactments where she dressed as a pioneer woman.

Survivors include her sons, Richard H. Thede, of Medford, Wis., Peter (Joanne) Thede, of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., and Harold Thede, of Tripoli, Wis.; and her daughters, Joyce Opitz, of Gaastra, Mich., and Larie Fritz, of Wautoma, Wis. Sonja is further survived by six grandsons and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard; and her second husband, Paul.

A memorial service for Sonja Anderson will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at 1 p.m., at the Log Church in Tripoli. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family. You may view Sonja’s obituary and leave online condolences at www.generationsfuneral.com.
