TOMAHAWK – A piece of Tomahawk history is in the process of being revitalized.

Back in 2003, a large mural depicting Tomahawk founder William H. Bradley was painted on the west side of the Standard Mercantile building downtown, facing N. Tomahawk Ave.

The mural had been worn from the weather and sun over the years, so Custom Murals’ Andy Goretski, an artist who contributed to the original project, is working to breathe new life into the painting.

The project, spearheaded Tomahawk Main Street Inc., is estimated to carry a roughly $9,000.00 price tag.

Main Street Executive Director Jennifer Turkiewicz said the organization is accepting donations from those interested in sponsoring the project. Donors are listed on Main Street’s website, and the organization is currently brainstorming ways to recognize contributors near the mural.
