Nancy Neumann

Nancy Neumann, age 90, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023.

Nancy was born in Madison, Wis., on Jan. 19, 1933 to Norman and Lucille (Ostby) Ceaglske. She graduated high school from Washburn High School in Minneapolis, Minn., in 1950. Nancy attended Stout University and graduated with a Home Economics degree. Nancy formerly married to Neil Neumann together they had four children, Barry (Monika) Neumann, Mosinee, Connie Anderson, Tomahawk, Paul Neumann, and Sandy (Glen Sorensen), Alexandria, Minn.

Nancy was an avid outdoor woman. She used to joke about being the only kid to cry because she had to leave camp. She made numerous canoe trips to the Boundary Waters and has camped in every state park in Minnesota retiring from camping and kayaking well into her 70s. Nancy was also a gifted painter, hand embroiderer and quilter, leaving many treasures behind for her children and loved ones.

Nancy’s children dubbed her motto as “Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” She did not like to leave any road unexplored.

Nancy is survived by her son, Barry, daughters, Connie and Sandy, sister and brother-in-law, Jean and John Payne of Tucson, Arizona, and sister-in-law Bev (Norman) Ceaglske of Cambridge, Minn. Nancy also leaves three grandchildren, Kris (Jill) Neumann of Minnesota, Allie Anderson, Madison, Kirk (Leann) Sorensen, Fargo, N.D., and great grandchildren, Hayden, Harper and Michael Neumann of Minnesota, Kayden, Keaton and Lauryn of North Dakota, Leo Tauchman, Madison.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Norman and son, Paul.

A celebration of Nancy Neumann’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 at the Clear Lake Condo Clubhouse. Krueger-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences for the family may be directed to www.kruegerfamilyfuneralhome.com.
