Lorna R. Coffman

Lorna R. Coffman, 92, a lifelong Tomahawk area resident, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at Friendly Village in Rhinelander under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.

Lorna was born May 5, 1931 in Tomahawk to Otto and Ruth (Emory) Stelter. Lorna married Robert Coffman on May 26, 1951 in Tomahawk. He passed away in 2006. Lorna, Bob, Ken, and Marlyn Coffman owned and operated the former Mug and Jug Tavern in Tomahawk for 45 years. They retired in 2002. Lorna was an active member of the Tomahawk United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four children: Glen (Toni) Coffman, Torrington, Connecticut; Shirley (Lee Theiler) Voermans, Tomahawk; Kevin Coffman, Tomahawk; and Carol (Mike) Westaby, Belgrade, Minn. She is further survived by nine grandchildren: Jessica (Jono) Mischkot, Andy Press, Derrick (Jenny) Seslar, Amanda (Mike) Juech, Chelsea (Dan) Williamson, Taylor (Katie) Verbanac, Travis Westaby, Sydney Coffman, and Jesse Westaby; nine great-grandchildren: Colton and Thea Seslar, Bailey, Dylan and Reese Williamson, Finn and Georgia Mischkot, Finn and Sawyer Verbanac. She is also survived by two siblings, Don (Ardell) Stelter and Ida Crofoot, all of Tomahawk; and a son in law, Tom Seslar. Lorna was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, daughter, Kathy Seslar, sister, Marlyn, brother, Jim Stelter, and son-in-law, Steve Voermans.

Funeral Services for Lorna Coffman will be held on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, at the Tomahawk United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Pastor Lisa Weaver will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Tomahawk. Krueger Nimsgern Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for the family.
