Dale J. Arthur, 84, of E. Park Ave., Tomahawk, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.
Dale was born June 27, 1939 in Chippewa Falls, Wis., to the late Minor and Thelma (Boerger) Arthur. He married Nona Beyer on Sept. 4, 1965 in Marion, Wis. Dale served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 until 1962. He had worked for Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for 17 years and then went back to school for a degree in wastewater treatment. He took a job in Tomahawk and for 21 years served as an Operator at the Water/Wastewater Treatment plant retiring in 2004. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and formerly served on the Church Council. Dale loved living on the Wisconsin River and enjoyed fishing and leisurely pontoon boat rides. He was also an accomplished woodworker and handyman and was always willing to help others.
Dale is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nona, two daughters, Victoria (Christopher) Rosin of New Zealand, Lynelle (Mark) Schommer of Fond du Lac, Wis., granddaughter, Danielle Schommer of Fond du Lac, and step-granddaughters Jacqueline and Jennifer. Dale is further survived by a sister, Arla Krug of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and two sisters.
A Memorial Service for Dale J. Arthur will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends at Grace Lutheran Church from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Krueger Family Funeral Home, Tomahawk, is assisting the family with arrangements.
