Carol R. White

Carol R. White

(May 5, 1934 – July 15, 2023)

Carol R. (Anderson) White was reunited in heaven with her husband of 71 years, Robert (Bob) A. White, on July 15th, 2023. Carol was born in Tomahawk on May 5, 1934 to Sever and Clara Anderson. She and Bob were united in marriage on Jan. 1, 1952, prior to Bob leaving for the Army. Bob and Carol lived in the Tomahawk area for over 65 years, until moving to Eau Claire approximately four years ago to be closer to their son Dave and his wife Pam. Carol and Bob were blessed with two sons, David and Dale.

Carol was well known for her sewing, cooking and baking skills. She was a cook at many local facilities including the Nokomis School, Golden Age Nursing Home, Lincoln Hills Boys School, and Lakeland Union High School. Carol had the ability to have a conversation with anyone and had many stories to share with those she met. A frequent phrase of hers was “to make a long story short,” but her stories were never “short.”

Carol defined the word “grace” and had the ability to find positivity in everything; in fact her cup was overflowing with positivity. In her final hours, Carol continued to share with those around her that she was doing “good” and in her worst days she was still doing “good.” Her smile was constant and genuine.

Carol’s faith was an important part of her life. She was baptized and confirmed as a Lutheran. She and Bob were members of Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk for many years. Carol was an active quilter, prayer partner, hospice volunteer, lefse maker and she participated in many other activities at the church.

Carol is survived by her son David (Pam) White of Eau Claire. She is further survived by her sister Judy Anderson of Los Angeles, Calif., along with four grandchildren, Maria (Nate) Lail of Evansville, Wis.; Catherine (Jake) Orin of Sugar Grove, Ill.; Kaela Wold of Kauai, Hawaii; and Derek (Ingrid) Wold of Eau Claire, Wis.; along with 10 great-grandchildren – Evan and Ethan Lail; Isaac, Caleb, Hudson and Hazel Orin; Kallie and Kaisa Akau; and Jiselle and Henrik Wold; two sisters-in-law – Francis Anderson of Tomahawk and Pat Anderson of Wolcott, New York, along with many other special nephews, nieces and other relatives and very good friends.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 71 years Bob who passed on Jan. 10, 2023; her son, Dale; mother and father, Sever and Clara; her two brothers Bob and John; and various other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the family, which will be designated to a fund at Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk.

The family will hold a celebration of life for Carol on Aug. 7, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. Interment will take place at the Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the Township of Nokomis, Oneida County, Wis.

The family would like to thank the staff at Azura Memory Care and Assisted Living along with the Mayo Clinic Hospice Staff. Carol was loved by many and she was so appreciative of the care and love she received from Mayo chaplain Jed Watson and Miranda Hutchinson, RN.
