LINCOLN COUNTY – The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors is seeking applications for a vacant seat on the board.
On Friday, June 30, Michael Loka retired from his position as District 16 Supervisor. Loka, who had served in the post for more than three decades, announced his intention to step down during the board’s meeting on Tuesday, June 20.
District 16 covers Wards 5 and 6 in the City of Tomahawk, as well as Ward 3 in the Town of Bradley.
Interested District 16 residents are asked submit a letter of interest that includes personal qualifications to Lincoln County Clerk Chris Marlowe at [email protected] or the Lincoln County Clerk’s Office, 801 N. Sales St., Suite 201, Merrill, Wis., 54452.
Applications will be accepted until 12 p.m. on Monday, July 31.
Selected candidates will be interviewed at the Lincoln County Service Center in Merrill on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
The board will approve the appointment to fill the vacancy during its Tuesday, Aug. 15 meeting.
The successful candidate will serve the reminder Loka’s term, which ends on April 15, 2024.
