Floyd’s Timber Tavern welcomed to community by Chamber Ambassadors

For the Tomahawk Leader

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently welcomed Floyd’s Timber Tavern to the community.

Floyd’s Timber Tavern, located at 433 S. Tomahawk Ave., is named after Floyd Manninen, the owners’ father and grandfather.

“Floyd was a legend in himself,” the Chamber stated. “In the past, he was the owner of the tavern Manny’s Hanger, a logger, an accomplished welder, car enthusiast and stock car racer.”

The Chamber said Floyd’s passing left a huge void in the family’s life, and they had the idea to establish a business in his name to honor him and fill the void while giving back to the community.

“The property came up for sale and seemed to be the best fit to create a legacy,” the Chamber explained. “It is evident in the decor, taking on the logging theme, very comfortable amenities, great food and smiling faces.”

The establishment dons a mural of Floyd, showcasing his personality, the Chamber noted.

Floyd’s Timber Tavern regularly hosts community organizations and will help with any fundraising event opportunities.

“Stop in and visit Floyd’s daughter Valorie and Bar Manager Caleb, along with their other friendly employees,” the Chamber stated. “Enjoy Floyd’s Timber Tavern – cozy, comfortable, and a welcoming atmosphere.”

Chamber Ambassadors Kathy Rechsteiner, Jennifer VanRixel, Deb Tomaszewski, Mary Lou Voermans, Becky Jaecks, Tami Olson, Bunny Kluka, Sarah Ristau, Brenda Reice and Kathy Rankin were on hand for a recent celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony at Floyd’s Timber Tavern.
