Body of missing Irma man found near Ice Age trailhead in Town of Harding

TOWN OF HARDING – The body of an Irma man who had been missing for several days was found yesterday morning.

A release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said Jason Meyer, 49, had been located deceased from what appeared to be self-inflicted injuries at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 18, near the trailhead of the Ice Age Trail on Burma Rd. in the Town of Harding.

Meyer was reported missing on Wednesday, June 14 and had last been seen in the area on the north side of Burma Rd. and County Rd. E.

The circumstances surrounding Meyer’s disappearance and death remain under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office.

“We would like to thank the many agencies and volunteers that assisted in the search efforts in any way over the last several days,” the Sheriff’s Office stated.
