Hatchet golfers receive end-of-season awards

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Hatchet golf team recently received awards to wrap up its season.

The Hatchets took seventh place in the Great Northern Conference (GNC) and finished in fifth at Regionals.

Award recipients are as follows:

Academic All State: Drew Albert, Sawyer Hanna, two others pending.

2nd Team All-Conference: Owen Dickrell.

All-Conference Honorable Mention: Sawyer Hanna.

Sectional Qualifier: Sawyer Hanna.

Lowest Stroke Average: Owen Dickrell.

Rookie of the Year: Caiden Reichelt.

Most Improved Golfers: Austin Lamer, Carson Childers.

Most Improved JV Golfer: Quentin Susa.

Most Pars: Owen Dickrell.

Most Birdies: Owen Dickrell.

Most Eagles: Sawyer Hanna.

Letter Winners: Drew Albert, senior; Owen Dickrell, junior; Sawyer Hanna, Austin Lamer, Carson Childers, sophomores; Caiden Reichelt, freshman.

JV Participation: Riley Massa, Quentin Susa, Sean Towne, Lydia Ziert, sophomores; Sophia Kiser, Nate Riemer, Cheyenne Shade, Trevor Schumann, freshmen.

Sectionals

At the Sectional meet at Lake Wissota on Tuesday, May 30, Sawyer Hanna ended the day with a score of 83 strokes.

Coach Garth Gerstenberger said Hanna hit the ball well, but the pin placements and fast greens made for a difficult day.
