Donald R. Crass, 85, of Goose Creek, S.C., passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

Donald was born on May 18, 1937 to Julius Crass and Rosella (Bebeau) Crass of Tomahawk.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Riley) Crass, his son, Kevin (Kimberlee) R. Crass, sister, Sandy (Crass) Erickson, and many loved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Rosella, his brothers Ronald, Gerald, and Richard and his sister, Barbara (Crass) Brandner.

Donald graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1954, that same year he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served proudly for 20 years. Donald retired as Storekeeper Chief (SKC) in 1974. He then worked for Cummins Engine Company in North Charleston, S.C., until he retired in 1996. Donald enjoyed traveling with his friends and family in his motorhome to favorite places like Tennessee, Wisconsin, and even Canada. He was an avid Braves fan, following them from Milwaukee to Atlanta and hardly ever missing a game on TV. Donald loved to tell a good story and he never met a stranger. He was a happy-go-lucky guy, with a big laugh, and was a great friend to all who knew him.

A visitation at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home was held Tuesday, May 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, S.C., 29406.

A Catholic mass service was held Wednesday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 510 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, S.C., 29445, with a reception immediately following.

Burial with United States Navy honors occurred at Carolina Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, May 10, at 2 p.m. Please make donations to the American Lung Association, in lieu of flowers or plants.
