Alissa ‘Aly’ Grace Sosnovske

Alissa “Aly” Grace Sosnovske, an adventurous and kind soul passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, as a result of a car accident. She was the daughter of Marty and Mary (Bloch) Sosnovske, born on July 28, 2000 in Merrill, Wis. She attended and graduated Merrill High School in 2018 and was attending UW-River Falls working towards a degree in dairy science. She was baptized and confirmed at Luther Memorial Church in Gleason.

Aly was in the Prairie River Eagles 4-H Club, Merrill FFA Chapter, Wisconsin Farm Bureau as the District 8 YFA Chair, she was working for Marathon County DHI and helped on the family dairy farm. She was passionate about life and working on the farm. She enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and was a great shot. Aly was a stubborn, funny, adventurous woman who had a flare for life. She liked to help in the maple syrup woods and some field work with her brother Ben. She liked to show dairy cattle at the Merrill Fair and when she was too old to show cattle, she liked to help clip and get the cattle ready for the shows. Aly also enjoyed baking with her neighbor Pat.

Aly is survived by her parents, Marty and Mary Sosnovske, brother: Ben Sosnovske, grandmother: Lorena Sosnovske, aunts: Kathy (Frank) Weitzel, Sherry (John) Kudick, Brenda Sosnovske, and Tena (Steve) Peterson, uncles: Russell (Joyce) Bloch, and Cory (Anastasia) Sosnovske, cousins: Kristine, Andrew, Ken, Kari, Katie, Kyle, Ryan, Julia, Rachael, Justin, Jessica, Jeri, Drexel, Alexander, Maxwell and many more cousins, and special hunting buddies: Dan, Mike, Chuck, Brent, Derrick, Dave, Jarls, Travis, Britani, Rob and Joe.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Deloris and Kenneth Bloch and Louis Sosnovske.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill, Wis. Pastor Greg Laska will officiate. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Waid Funeral Home and on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of service also at the church. Interment will take place at Summit Cemetery in the Town of Summit.
