Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: April 26, 2023

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday, April 26:

A Merrill man, 64, was injured during a one-vehicle crash in the Town of King on the evening of Wednesday, April 19. A preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle the man was driving was eastbound on County Rd. D when it lost control, crossed the centerline, entered the ditch and struck a tree. The man was later transported by Tomahawk Ambulance to Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital.

A Merrill woman, 28, and her two passengers avoided injury following a one-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in the Town of Scott. A preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle the woman was operating was southbound on County Rd. Q when the vehicle met some slush, which was in the roadway. This caused the vehicle to cross the lane of oncoming traffic, enter the ditch and strike a tree head-on.

A Merrill woman, 81, sustained minor injury following a two-vehicle crash earlier Wednesday morning in the Town of Pine River. A preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle the woman was operating was northbound on County Rd. W when it collided with southbound vehicle driven by a Wausau man, 27. The woman was later transported by Merrill Fire Department Ambulance to Aspirus Merrill Hospital.

A Tomahawk woman, 34, was taken into custody in the early morning hours of Monday, April 17. A deputy on patrol discovered the woman’s vehicle in a ditch on US Hwy. 51 near mile marker 207. During a preliminary investigation, the deputy noted signs indicative of impairment about the woman’s person. As a result, the woman was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail on charges of 2nd offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, operating after revocation and bail jumping.

Three motorists reported striking deer last week, down from 11 the week before.
