TOMAHAWK – Tomahawk Together is continuing to receive donations for “Our Dream Park.”
Earlier this year, Tomahawk Together received four contributions from several local organizations that totaled $20,000.00, and in recent weeks, four more donations have brought the nonprofit closer to its goal of revitalizing Washington Square Park on N. 4th St. with an all-inclusive playground.
The recent donations totaled $18,481.77, which will go towards the installation of playground equipment designed for children of all ages and abilities.
While specifics regarding Our Dream Park are still currently in the works, a splash pad and an array of other amenities designed for park-goers both young and old are being planned.
Recent donations
The Tomahawk Main Street Inc. board, during its annual meeting at Pine Tree Supper Club in February, presented a donation of $805.00 to the Dream Park proceeds. The funds came from Main Street’s Chili Cook-off.
In a Feb. 10 Facebook post, Tomahawk Together thanked Main Street for the contribution.
A $5,000.00 donation towards Our Dream Park was made by Park City Credit Union earlier this month.
“How do we build a Dream Park? One step at a time,” a post on Tomahawk Together’s Facebook page said. “We are one step closer!”
A pair of recent fundraising dances – a Valentine’s Day father-daughter dance and a superhero-themed mother-son dance – raised a total of $2,676.77, which will be allocated to the Dream Park project.
The dances were sponsored by St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
The Harley-Davidson Foundation recently contributed $10,000.00 to the park project, rounding out the most recent batch of donations to Our Dream Park.
“We are so thankful for the generosity of our community,” Tomahawk Together stated.
How to contribute to Our Dream Park
There are several ways for those interested to help make Our Dream Park a reality.
Tomahawk Together is currently working on a campaign to install engraved pavers on a walkway in Our Dream Park. For years to come, the pavers will commemorate those who contributed to the park, the organization said. Details on the campaign will be announced soon.
Interested individuals or groups can reach out to Tomahawk Together about sponsoring a special piece of playground equipment in the park.
Donations can be mailed to Tomahawk Together “Dream Park,” P.O. Box 653, Tomahawk, Wis., 54487.
