RHINELANDER – Northwoods poet, artist and musician Jaron Childs will perform at Nicolet College next month.

The concert will be held at the Nicolet College Theatre, 5364 College Dr., Rhinelander, on Saturday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Childs’ unique sound combines indie folk sensibilities and early American fingerstyle guitar, according to Mike Effinger, Theatre and Events Services Manager at Nicolet.

“Jaron is such a witty and talented individual, and I’m sure his ‘In the Pines’ concert will be an enjoyable and memorable event for everyone,” Effinger stated. “During the evening, Jaron will share his songs, poems and art, as well as his thoughts on how landscape and natural systems inspire his work.”

Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased online at www.nicoletlive.com. Beer, wine, and concessions will be available for purchase beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Lakeside Center.

The performance is part of the Nicolet Live! Locally Grown series, which began 20 years ago as a way to showcase the talents of local artists and is the first time back since the pandemic.

“Jaron fits in perfectly with the style and feel that was envisioned for the Locally Grown series, and we are absolutely delighted to have Jaron as part of the lineup,” Effinger said.
