For the Tomahawk Leader

EAGLE RIVER – Five Tomahawk Elementary and Middle School students recently competed in the Regional Spelling Bee at Northland Pines Middle/High School in Eagle River as part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

The Tomahawk spellers had each previously placed in the top three in their respective school bees held last month.

Angela McPherson, School Bee Coordinator and Reading Specialist with the School District of Tomahawk, noted that although the Tomahawk students ultimately did not advance from the Regional bee, they were “a great group.”
