CRANDON – The Tomahawk Middle School wrestling team took part in a scramble in Crandon and a D.C. Everest team tournament.

Crandon

The middle school Hatchets traveled to Crandon on Thursday, Feb. 2 for a seven-team scramble. The teams involved were Tomahawk, Crandon, John Muir Blue, MHLT, Rhinelander, Wabeno/Laona and Florence. There were no team scores kept.

The following Tomahawk wrestlers came away with at least one victory last night: Fletcher Bauman, Hudson Evans, Harman Hoffman, Dawson Jones, Colton McMeekin, Cash Olsen, Tiegan Sarazin and Zander Zehner.

D.C. Everest

The middle school grapplers were back in action on Saturday, Feb. 4, when they made the trek to D.C. Everest to compete in their annual team tournament. Eight teams competed, and the Hatchets placed 7th overall, going 1-3 as a team. Competing teams included Tomahawk, D.C. Everest, Marshfield, Antigo, John Muir Blue, Horace Mann and John Muir White.

The Hatchets could only fill eight of the 14 weight classes in each dual meet and won 60% of their actual matches.

Harman Hoffman came away with an undefeated record of 4-0. Tomahawk wrestlers with at least one victory were Skyler Harper-Dahlvig, Dawson Jones, Cash Olsen, Hudson Evans, Zander Zehner, Colton McMeekin and Tanner Wanta.

The middle school Hatchet grapplers are slated to travel to Wisconsin Rapids for a CWWC scramble meet on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
