RHINELANDER – Individuals planning on attending Nicolet College during the 2023-2024 academic year are encouraged to apply for a scholarship from the Nicolet College Foundation to help cover college costs.

“We’ve heard time and again from students how scholarships have been such a tremendous financial help for them to get the education they need to get ahead in life,” said Heather Schallock, Nicolet Vice President of Community Engagement and Director of the Nicolet College Foundation. “Every year we award hundreds of scholarships. Our donors want Nicolet students to receive this money, but first students need to fill out the scholarship application, which is fairly easy to complete.”

The application period will run from Wednesday, Feb. 1 to Tuesday, Feb. 28 to cover costs from Fall Term 2023 through Summer Term 2024.

Scholarships range from $250.00 to $2,500.00. The funds are available for both new and returning Nicolet students to help pay for tuition and books.

Both part-time and full-time students with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher are eligible to receive scholarships.

Scholarship recipient and University Transfer Liberal Arts student Mariah McCue said she was both grateful and inspired for the funds she received.

“Knowing that strangers are rooting for me and are willing to invest their time and money in me is the greatest motivator,” McCue said.

Welding student Jocelyn Tilton said her scholarship eased the weight on her shoulders as she wondered how she was going to pay for college.

“The support you have put into me will help me spend less time worrying about how I am going to be able to pay to get to school,” Tilton explained.

Schallock noted that the scholarships are available only because of the generosity of Foundation donors.

“They truly believe in the value of a Nicolet College education,” she said. “They see how it can improve the lives of individuals and also benefit the communities in which graduates live and work.”

The online scholarship application is available at www.nicoletcollege.academicworks.com. Students seeking assistance filling out the application can contact the college’s Academic Success department at 715-365-4455.

For more information about scholarships, like and follow the Nicolet College Foundation on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, or contact Advancement Specialist Leslie Lukas in the Foundation office at [email protected] or 715-365-4557.
