Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: Jan. 18, 2023

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday, Jan. 18:

On 01-11-23 a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle on E. Somo Ave. in the City of Tomahawk for deviating from its lane of traffic. Upon making contact with the driver, a Merrill man, 38, the deputy observed signs of impairment. The deputy requested the driver perform sobriety tests, and as a result of those tests, the driver was arrested for first offense of OWI. The driver was later released to a responsible party.

On 01-12-2023 deputies were dispatched to an address on CTH K in the Town of Merrill for a reported domestic dispute in progress. It was reported that the suspect, a Merrill man, 37, was intoxicated and trying to get into the victim’s room. As a result, the suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to Aspirus Merrill Hospital for medical clearance before being taken to the Lincoln County Jail.

On 01-14-2023 deputies, along with ambulances from Merrill, Tomahawk and Wausau, responded to the intersection of Joe Snow Rd. and CTH Q in the Town of Scott for a two-car crash with multiple injured parties. Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of one of the vehicles was traveling on Joe Snow Rd. when he failed to stop at a stop sign and stuck the vehicle traveling on CTH Q. Several people were injured in the crash, including two children, who required medical assistance. The driver who failed to stop for the stop sign was cited for the violation. The Merrill Police Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office with traffic control.

During this week period, there were ten car vs. deer crashes.
