TOMAHAWK – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed options for U.S. Hwy. 8 between County Rd. L and Klade Rd. in Lincoln County.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 17 at the City Hall Council Chambers, 23 N. 2nd St., Tomahawk, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The meeting can also be attended virtually by calling 1-888-475-4499, access code 903 385 0484, passcode 54487; or by visiting www.zoom.com, clicking “Join” and entering the access code and passcode.

A release from WisDOT said a brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. for both in-person and virtual participants. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format.

“Options will be discussed at the meeting to address the deterioration of asphalt on U.S. 8 and improving safety at the intersections of the highway with Lincoln County L and at Klade Rd.,” WisDOT stated. “Options for improving the Hiawatha Trail crossing of U.S. 8 will also be presented.”

Construction is scheduled for 2027, according to WisDOT.
