WEST SALEM – The Tomahawk Hatchet hockey team was in West Salem to take part in a tournament on Thursday, Dec. 29 and Friday, Dec. 30.

On Thursday, Tomahawk took on De Pere and emerged with a 3-2 victory.

Coach Chris Bembinster said the Hatchets “had a real good test” in the De Pere team, noting that although De Pere jumped out to an early lead, the Hatchets kept working to pull out the win.

“Our team showed we can battle back, no matter the circumstances,” Bembinster stated after the game. “We are real proud of our group tonight.”

Tomahawk was slated to take part in the second day of the tournament in West Salem on Friday, Dec. 30.

Tomahawk will host Lakeland on Thursday, Jan. 5 and Marshfield on Friday, Jan. 6. Both games will be held at the SARA Park Arena, with opening puck drops at 7 p.m.
