Tomahawk Chamber Ambassadors hold ribbon cutting ceremony at Ace Hardware

For the Tomahawk Leader

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently stopped by Ace Hardware, 986 N. 4th St., to welcome new owners, Medford Cooperative, to the community.

Medford Cooperative is a member-owned, producer cooperative founded in 1911, making it one of the oldest cooperatives in the state of Wisconsin.

A release from the Chamber said Medford Cooperative’s profits go back to their customers in the form of annual cash back and stock in the cooperative, meaning their customers are their shareholders.

“Medford Cooperative is excited to join the Tomahawk community and build upon their 111-plus-year history,” the Chamber stated. “They deeply believe in supporting the communities that they operate in.”

The Chamber noted that one way Medford Cooperative does this is through donations to non-profit organizations.

During their Grand Opening event at Ace Hardware, Medford Cooperative partnered with the NCO Club, a Tomahawk-based organization that supports veterans through numerous programs, such as the Never Forgotten Honor Flight.

The acquisition of the Tomahawk Ace Hardware will enable it to provide increased service to members while expanding the benefits of Medford Cooperative membership to the Tomahawk community.

The hardware store will continue to operate under the Ace brand, with employees and product offerings remaining the same.

“They welcome local businesses to set up accounts with ACE Tomahawk, where they can help fulfill all your business needs while combining your purchases into a monthly statement,” the Chamber said. “In addition, each business can earn annual cash back and stock in the Medford Cooperative as well – it’s a win/win.”

Medford Cooperative is also offering a special deal for new propane customers. New customers who lease a tank can receive 100 free gallons of propane. Certain restrictions apply, the Chamber noted.
