TOWN OF BRADLEY – A Tomahawk-area woman and a dog were killed in a single-vehicle crash in the Town of Bradley on Monday, Dec. 26.

A release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said a 911 call reporting the crash at County Rd. U and County Rd. A was received at 7:52 a.m. Lincoln County deputies, the Tomahawk Fire Department and Tomahawk EMS responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, it was found that the lone occupant of the vehicle, identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Renee Jane Kapellusch, 52, of the Tomahawk area, had sustained fatal injuries. A family dog also died in the crash, the Sheriff’s Office said.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, preliminary investigation indicates that Kapellusch was traveling eastbound on County Rd. U and failed to stop at the stop sign at County Rd. A. The vehicle crossed County Rd. A, entered the ditch on the east side of the road and struck a group of trees before coming to final rest.

Speed is believed to be a factor, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash remains under investigation.
