Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: Nov. 28, 2022

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Nov. 28:

A man, 34, was taken into custody on Sunday evening, Nov. 27, following an incident in the Town of Tomahawk. Deputies initially responded to a reported theft at a residence. However, upon further investigation, deputies learned an incident had taken place where the man reportedly made threats and threw items at another party inside the residence. As a result, the man was taken into custody on a charge of domestic violence related-disorderly conduct as well as an outstanding warrant out of Vilas County.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 27, deputies took a Janesville woman, 34, into custody following a traffic stop in the Town of Birch. Upon contact with the woman, the investigating deputy observed signs indicative of alcohol impairment. The woman reportedly became uncooperative during contact and resisted efforts by deputies to take her into custody. Once in custody, the female party reportedly made threats toward deputies, caused damage to the interior of a patrol vehicle and kicked a deputy. The woman now faces numerous charges, including felony charges of threats to law enforcement and attempted battery to a law enforcement officer, and misdemeanor charges of resisting/obstructing an officer and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) w/passenger under the age of 16.

On the evening of Thursday, Nov. 24, deputies responded to a reported disturbance in the Town of Bradley. As a result, a Tomahawk man, 23, was taken into custody on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence related disorderly conduct, after it was learned he had reportedly threatened and pushed another party inside a residence.

A barn has been reported as a total loss following a structure fire on Thursday. At 4:57 a.m., the Lincoln County E911 Communications Center received a report of a barn fire in the Town of Scott. Responding to the scene were deputies of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, units and staff from the Merrill Fire Department as well as those from the Towns of Corning, Pine River, Texas and Maine Volunteer Fire Departments. Tomahawk Ambulance supported response efforts by providing standby coverage in Irma. The origin of the fire is suspected to be related to a skid-steer, which had been parked inside the barn. Crews were on-scene for nearly 10 hours. While no injuries were reported, ten calves were reported to have perished in the blaze.

Thirteen motorists reported striking deer in Lincoln County last week, down from 24 the week before.
