THS drama department’s one-act play performs at State competition

For the Tomahawk Leader
WHITEWATER – The cast and crew of the Tomahawk High School drama department’s one-act play, “Wait, Wait Bo Bait,” participated in the State competition held at UW-Whitewater on Friday, Nov. 18 and Nov. 19, marking the department’s seventh-straight trip to State.
The students punched their ticket to State at the Sectional competition in Oconto Falls on Thursday, Nov. 3.
Director Michele Balda noted that although the students ran into some tough judges at State, the cast and crew put on their “best performance in front of an appreciative, participatory crowd who cheered for them throughout.”
“Regardless of the results, they had an amazing experience being reminded that they perform for audiences, not judges,” Balda stated.
The students ultimately received All-State honors, as well as a technical award.
Although the students were disappointed in the final results, Balda noted that the audience experience made up for it, adding that the cast and crew enjoyed seeing the showcase production and the other schools’ performances.
