Tomahawk LP plant records one million injury-free work hours

For the Tomahawk Leader

TOMAHAWK – Last month, the Louisiana-Pacific (LP) facility in Tomahawk hit a significant safety milestone – one million work hours without a recordable injury.

The milestone was surpassed for the first time in the plant’s 29-year history on Oct. 3.

Brett Beaumier, LP Tomahawk Environmental Health and Safety Manager, said the achievement represents “over three years of hard work from the 150 Tomahawk mill employees, as well as the support from the regional staff and business team.”

Beaumier added that there are “still endless opportunities for improvement moving forward.”

“Our message to the Tomahawk employees is that we cannot let complacency set in or allow ourselves to view this milestone as a finish line,” Beaumier stated. “We need to continue our focus on making each day the most important day.”

Since 2010, LP sites have reached one million injury-free hours on 15 occasions.
