Tomahawk spikers win first conference championship since 2014

WITTENBERG – On Thursday, Oct. 6, the Tomahawk Hatchet volleyball team went on the road to Wittenberg-Birnamwood, ranked 12th in Division 3, and won 3-1 by scores of 25-13 31-29, 20-25 and 25-21.

Meghan Scholz led the way with 23 kills and three blocks.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, Tomahawk had its final three conference duels against Antigo, Mosinee and Lakeland.

Coach Keith Hanse said the team played great and held their focus all day, beating Antigo 25-10, 25-20, 25-14; Mosinee 25-19, 25-12, 25-19; and Lakeland 25-16, 25-12, 25-17.

The Hatchets earned their first conference championship since 2014, ending conference play 12-0 in matches and 36-0 in sets.
