League of Women Voters’ VOTE411 election resource available online

For the Tomahawk Leader

NORTHERN WISCONSIN – The League of Women Voters of the Northwoods (LWVNOW) is offering a nonpartisan election resource where northern Wisconsin residents can learn about what, and who, will be on their ballots this November.

A release from LWVNOW explained that www.VOTE411.org is a “one-stop shop” for election information, providing “simple, easy-to-use tools to help Wisconsin voters navigate the voting process.”

Candidate information, a voter registration tool, polling place locations and other election information are available via VOTE411 to assist voters as they prepare to go to the polls next month.

VOTE411 also features a Voters’ Guide, a voter resource of the county-wide candidates who will be on the Nov. 8 ballots for Lincoln, Florence, Forest, Langlade, Oneida and Vilas counties.

“Those offices include Clerk of Circuit Court, Sheriff and Coroner (if an elected position), in addition to several municipal referenda and school district referenda,” LWVNOW stated.

“Voters in our communities need simple, accessible tools to help them navigate the voting process before they go to vote,” said Dorothy Skye, State President LWVWI. “VOTE411 is the nation’s premiere online election resource, and LWVNOW has published our voter guide on VOTE411 to serve as a resource for all of the Northwoods voters.”

The LWVNOW encompasses Florence, Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida and Vilas counties. The local league belongs to the state and national League of Women Voters, “a non-partisan organization devoted to helping members and fellow citizens develop educated political opinions and act upon them through the democratic process.” The league’s monthly meetings and sponsored events are open to all.
