Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: Oct. 3, 2022

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Oct. 3:

On 09-26-22 deputies were dispatched to the area of CTH Q and USH 51 in the Town of Scott for a driving complaint. It was reported that a vehicle was observed weaving in the roadway. Deputies located the suspect vehicle and stopped it to investigate the complaint. They made contact with the driver, a woman, 48, from St. Louis, Mo., and found her to be under the influence of intoxicants. Following a series of sobriety tests she was placed under arrest for first offense OWI.

On 09-27-2022 deputies were requested by the Tomahawk Police Department to respond to a disturbance on W. Wisconsin Ave. in the City of Tomahawk. Upon arrival, it was learned that there was an argument between a Rhinelander woman, 42, and a Tomahawk man, 40. During the contact it was discovered that the man had been consuming alcoholic beverages, which is a violation of his probation. Deputies contacted the State of Wisconsin Probation and Parole, who placed a hold on the male. He was then arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

On 10-01-2022 a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle for speeding on STH 64 and French Ridge Rd. in the Town of Pine River. The deputy made contact with the driver of the car, a Merrill man, 68, and found him to be under the influence of intoxicants. The driver was placed through a series of sobriety tests and as a result of those tests was placed under arrest for first offense OWI. It was also discovered that the subject had a handgun in his possession. As a result he was also booked on a charge of going armed while intoxicated. He was transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he posted bond and was released.

On 10-01-2022 a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle for speeding on STH 86 and Crass Rd. in the Town of Bradley. The deputy made contact with the driver of the car, a Merrill man, 28, and found him to be under the influence of intoxicants. The driver was placed through a series of sobriety tests and as a result of those tests was placed under arrest for first offense OWI. The driver was later released to a responsible party.

During this week period, there were seven car vs. deer crashes and one car vs. bear crash reported.
