Northwoods Fall Art Tour begins Friday, Oct. 7
For the Tomahawk Leader
NORTHERN WISCONSIN – Northern Wisconsin art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to witness the creative process up close and personal during the Northwoods Fall Art Tour, slated for Friday, Oct. 7 through Sunday, Oct. 9.
“The tour features a diverse selection of some of the best painters, photographers, potters, wood workers, sculptors, furniture makers, jewelry makers, glass and fiber artists, original printmakers and reproduction prints,” a release from the tour said. “Each artist expresses their own unique style in their choice of media, providing a rich variety to the tour. Studios are organized as individual open houses, where visitors can come and go as their interest and time allow.”
A total of 37 studios throughout Lincoln, Iron, Oneida and Vilas counties will be open to guests from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily during the tour.
There will be demonstrations and discussion of ideas and processes, and works will be available for purchase.
“Many artists consider the tour the highlight of their year,” the release stated. “There is time to discuss art ideas, share knowledge and hear visitors’ interests and thoughts about their work and the tour. They enjoy seeing repeat visitors and making new friends. One visitor commented last year that it is the perfect way to spend a day enjoying the beauty of nature on the drive and the beauty of art in the studios. Whether tour-goers are looking for the perfect gift, something special for your home or a better understanding of how and why art is created, inspiration for your own creative spark or are just curious, they will be welcomed.”
Brochures with location descriptions and driving directions are available at local chambers, visitor centers and businesses, as well as on the tour website at www.northwoodsarttour.com. More information on each artist and a link to a video overview of what the tour experience is like are also available on the website.
