Coleman rolls in shutout of Tomahawk

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Hatchet football team traveled to Coleman on Friday, Sept. 30 and fell by a score of 36-0.

The Hatchets ended the game with 133 total yards, while the Cougars racked up 452.

Most of the offense in the game came on the ground. Tomahawk ran the ball 29 times for 108 yards, led by Mason Evans’ 86 yards on 15 carries. Coleman tallied 443 rushing yards on 43 attempts.

Tomahawk quarterback Tyler Jablonski went 3-10 through the air with 25 yards. Gavyn Palmer, Zach Hanse and Mitch Jiminez each hauled in one pass. Coleman’s QB completed one of four pass attempts for nine yards and threw one interception.

The Hatchets went 3-10 and 1-1 on third and fourth downs, respectively, while the Cougars converted two of five third downs and two of three fourth downs.

Tomahawk fumbled the ball four times, losing possession three times. Coleman fumbled twice and lost possession once.

On Friday, Oct. 7, Tomahawk will host Ishpeming, Mich., at Hatchet Field. Kickoff for the Homecoming game against the Hematites is slated for 6 p.m.
