Healthy Minds for Lincoln County releases updated Substance Use, Mental Health Resource Guide

For the Tomahawk Leader

LINCOLN COUNTY – Healthy Minds for Lincoln County, a community coalition aimed at addressing mental health and substance use challenges in the county, recently updated its Substance Use and Mental Health Resource Guide.

Healthy Minds for Lincoln County is a part of Live Well Lincoln, a collaborative that strives to promote partnerships within the community to improve health through advocacy, prevention and implementation of best practices.

The updated guide has many new resources, including telehealth services, as well as information on 988 the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, a release from Live Well Lincoln said.

The resource guide is organized by residential treatment, clinical counseling, recovery and support, local resources and hotlines. Information for Lincoln, Marathon, Langlade and Oneida counties is included.

Support for the guide was provided by Aspirus Health and the Wisconsin Rural Opioid and Stimulant Engagement (WiROSE), funded by SAMHSA to address opioid and stimulant prevention, intervention and recovery. WiROSE is a project of the Extension Health and Well-being Institute.

“Although Healthy Minds strives for accuracy of this guide, the information provided may not be inclusive of all resources, and services may change,” the release stated. “Use this guide as a starting point for getting you, a loved one or friend the help that is needed.”

“We know that substance use and mental health services are limited in our area, and it can be a difficult system to navigate,” said Kristin Bath, Public Health Educator with the Lincoln County Health Department (LCHD). “We hope that by having local services and resources listed in one place, it will prevent people from becoming discouraged and make it a bit easier to access services so people can get the support they need.”
