Current, future students encouraged to apply

For the Tomahawk Leader

RHINELANDER – Individuals planning on attending Nicolet College during the spring and summer terms of 2023 are encouraged to apply for scholarships from the Nicolet College Foundation to help cover college costs.

“Even with Nicolet being one of the most affordable colleges in the state, paying for tuition and books can still be a challenge for many,” said Heather Schallock, Foundation Executive Director. “And that’s where scholarships come in. They’ve made college possible for countless individuals over the years and have opened the door to the education they need to get ahead in life.”

The application period will run from Thursday, Sept. 1 to Thursday, Sept. 30 to cover costs for Spring Term 2023 and Summer Term 2023.

The online application is available at www.nicoletcollege.academicworks.com.

Scholarships range from $500.00 to $2,500.00. The funds are available for both new and returning Nicolet students to help pay for tuition and books.

Both part-time and full-time students with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher are eligible to receive scholarships, Nicolet said.

Scholarship recipient and Nursing student Sarah Alberg said she was grateful for the funds and happy with her decision to enroll at Nicolet.

“When I think of being awarded a scholarship, there is a sense of duty to apply myself even more due to the fact that others are choosing to donate their hard-earned money to help me succeed as a student,” Alberg stated. “It says someone believes in me, and I don’t want to let them down.”

Schallock noted that the scholarships are available only because of the generosity of Foundation donors.

“They truly believe in the value of a Nicolet College education,” she said. “They see how it can improve the lives of individuals and also benefit the communities in which graduates live and work.”

For more information about scholarships, find the Nicolet College Foundation social media or contact the Nicolet College Foundation office at 715-365-4518, 1-800-544-3039, ext. 4518; TTY 1-800-947-3529 or 711 relay; or by email at [email protected].
