Chamber Ambassadors hold ribbon cuttings at Rae’s Barbershop, Twin Bay, Qualheim’s

For the Tomahawk Leader

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently welcomed Rae’s Barbershop, Twin Bay Resort and Qualheim’s True Value to the area, holding ribbon cuttings at each business.

Rae’s Barbershop

Located at 5 N. Tomahawk Ave., Rae’s Barbershop specializes in men’s and boys’ haircuts and styling, as well as add-on services, such as beard trimming and waxing.

“The Chamber Ambassadors were excited to check out the renovated space and welcome Rachael (Rae) to her new downtown location,” a release from the Chamber said. “Not only does Rachael offer her years of experience to your care, but you also receive a complementary shampoo and hot towel treatment.”

The Chamber noted that Rae’s Barbershop also features hair care and grooming products.

“Even more exciting, an outdoor waiting area for you to enjoy the seasons,” the Chamber added.

To schedule an appointment at Rae’s Barbershop, call 715-966-2938 or stop in, as walk-ins are accepted.

Ambassadors Karrie Hess, Jennifer Turkiewicz, MaryLu Voermans, Becky Jaecks, Kathy Rankin and Heather Smith were on hand to help welcome Rae’s Barbershop to Tomahawk, with extra help from the whole Budzynksi family. Photos courtesy of Jennifer Turkiewicz.

Twin Bay Resort

Twin Bay Resort, located at 2173 County Rd. L, has been serving up homemade pizza for years.

“In fact, the recipe has been handed down since 1954,” the Chamber said. “New owners, John and Kiersten Litzau are excited to continue the tradition.”

Along with a full bar, Twin Bay also offers four year-round cabin rentals. Located right off the Bearskin Trail, the establishment also features a game room, pool table, large screen TVs and an internet jukebox, as well as an ATM.

Twin Bay also features a private boat launch and Happy Hour every Tuesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“Fridays are ‘FriYays’ too,” the Chamber stated. “Buy one pizza, and get a pizza of equal or lesser value for half price. They also offer great pop-up specials, so be sure to follow them on Facebook.”

Ambassadors Voermans, Hess and Jaecks, as well as Chamber staff Keri Kelley and Executive Director Sherry Hulett, welcomed new Twin Bay Resort owners John and Kiersten Litzau, and their sons, Nathaniel and Edwin, to the Tomahawk community.

Qualheim’s True Value

A once vacant store has been revived, as the new store, Qualheim’s True Value, is up and running at 79 Hometown Way, formerly Shopko.

The Chamber Ambassadors were on hand to help officially welcome Qualheim’s, helping kick off their grand opening and celebration the weekend of Aug. 11.

“I’m excited to announce our third store opening in Tomahawk,” said owner Willis Qualheim. “After looking for a location for quite a long time, we settled on Tomahawk and couldn’t be happier with our decision. The Shopko store closing left a void in the community, and we hope to fill that void with products and services that our customers will be pleased with. We have a top-notch team in place who is ready to help out customers in any way we can.”

The family-run franchise operates two other True Value stores in northern Wisconsin, with the original location in Shawano and another in Park Falls.

“Qualheim’s True Value is excited to not only sell traditional hardware products – plumbing, electrical, tools, paint, outdoor power equipment, etc. – but in addition, they will offer grills, outdoor living, pet supplies, home goods and small appliances, Carhartt and Ariat clothing and work wear, toys and pool supplies,” the Chamber said.

Ambassadors on hand to welcome staff at Qualheim’s True Value included Voermans, Smith, Hulett, Hess, Jaecks, Diane Timm, Kristi Davis, Jeffrey Johnson and Patti Panfil.
