Later that same day, around noon, Judge Bayne-Allison swore in Kristopher Ellis as the new Lincoln County District Attorney.

Ellis was appointed to fill the vacancy in the DA’s office created when Bayne-Allison left to become Judge. Ellis had been an Assistant DA in Lincoln County since June.

Ellis will serve for the remainder of the unexpired term that ends Jan. 2025. He was appointed by Governor Tony Evers.
