Thomas W. Redmond

Thomas W. Redmond, age 78, of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Tomahawk Health Services under the care of Compassus Hospice. Tom was born in Tomahawk on Oct. 5, 1943, to the late James and Elizabeth (Singer) Redmond.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Tomahawk and a graduate of Tomahawk High School. He later attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls for a time before joining the National Guard. Tom farmed locally and sprayed crop for others in the area. His passion was for horses and he had several riding stables. In his younger years, he was active in 4-H and the riding club. Tom never missed an auction and was a collector of all things. He enjoyed going for long rides seeing the countryside, was a talented woodworker, and loved socializing with his coffee group at McDonalds prior to COVID.

Survivors include his brother-in-law, Willard Strasburg, of Minocqua; his sister-in-law, Judy Redmond, of Tomahawk; and his nephew and caregivers, James and Theresa Strasburg. Tom is further survived by extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elizabeth; seven sisters and three brothers.

Memorial services for Thomas Redmond will be held on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at 12 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m. Inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
