TOMAHAWK – A short video created by Discover Wisconsin showcases numerous Tomahawk businesses, as well as the many ways to enjoy the outdoors in the area.

Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sherry Hulett said the Chamber hired Discover Wisconsin to create the roughly six-minute digital short. The project was funded by room tax, which may only be used for the promotion of tourism to increase overnight stays, Hulett explained.

The video, called “Together in Tomahawk” and hosted by Rick Rose and Apurba Banerjee, was filmed in June and debuted on Discover Wisconsin’s YouTube channel on Friday, July 22.

In the video, Tomahawk is referred to as “the gateway to the Northwoods.”

Among the Tomahawk businesses featured in the short are What’s Brewin’?, Cherie’s Sweet Sensations, Outboards Bar and Grill and Dog N’ Suds.

The video also takes a look the area’s outdoor recreation opportunities, with Rose and Banerjee highlighting ATV, hiking, biking and snowmobile trails and Tomahawk’s golf courses – Edgewater Country Club and Inshalla Country Club. Also showcased are the many ways to enjoy the water in and around Tomahawk, including pontooning, fishing and swimming, as well as the Kwahamot Ski Show on Lake Mohawksin.

Hulett said businesses shown in the video were ultimately decided by the production staff, noting that the Chamber assisted by offering a list of activities which would be of interest to tourists.
