Darlene ‘Dar’ (Barr) Byorni

Darlene “Dar” (Barr) Byorni, 75, of Superior, Wis., was called home on May 29, 2022. At the time of her homecoming, she was surrounded by family and the caring staff of Twin Ports Health Services.

Dar was born on Aug. 10, 1946, in Tomahawk, to William and Alta (Jordan) Barr.

Prior to retiring due to health reasons, Dar worked as a personal care attendant for those requiring home health care and enjoyed the time she spent helping others. She also made and sold hundreds of loaves of banana bread for several years at Christmastime to raise money for Toys for Tots.

Dar will be welcomed home by her husband, Tim Byorni; special friend, Frank Gruden; two infant daughters, Wendy Renee and Lisa Marie; sisters, Doris and Marlene; brothers, Abe, Bill, Dick, Ronnie, and Donnie; and her beloved dog, Mitzi.

She is survived by her son, Wayne Dearth of Maple Plain, Minn.; daughter, Angela (Ben) Crowson of Superior; her grandchildren, Nick Goble of Richfield, Minn., and Courtney Goble of Woodbury, Minn.; several nieces and nephews; as well as her canine companion, Miley.

A private family celebration of life will be planned for a later date.

The family would like to express gratitude to the wonderful, attentive, and caring staff of Twin Ports Health Services and Essentia Health Hospice. Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19th St., is assisting the family with arrangements. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.downsfh.com.
