Middle school track: Hatchets compete in Small School Conference Meet

RHINELANDER – On Tuesday, May 24, the Tomahawk Middle School track and field team finished their season competing against Rhinelander, Mosinee, Medford, Minocqua, Northland Pines, Arbor Vitae and Antigo in the Small School Conference Meet in Rhinelander.

The Hatchet girls took 3rd place behind Rhinelander and Mosinee, while the boys’ team finished in 4th, following Mosinee, Rhinelander and Medford.

The Hatchets had 12 top-three finishes. Individual winners were Alicia Voermans in the 100m dash, Elise Gibeault in the high jump and Beau Stromberg in the 400m dash.

Ella Peissig placed 2nd in the 400m run, tying Brianna Weyers’s middle school record with a time of 1:05.24.
